In 1999 the Police Department joined Livingston High School's effort to conduct an “Every 15 Minutes" Program for graduating seniors and juniors.
Every 15 minutes, someone throughout the United States is involved in an alcohol related collision. The “Every 15 Minutes” program is designed to put juniors & seniors through the process of an actual drunk driving collision, loss of friends and fellow students, death notifications, and the final assembly to hear from those directly involved regarding their feelings about the event.
Although the program is spearheaded by Livingston High School Staff, it is supported by many groups such as; Livingston Police Department, Livingston Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, Air Med, Emanuel Hospital, Wilson Funeral Home, Merced County Sheriff’s Coroner's Office, American Medical Service, California Office of Traffic Safety, and California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
