Baseball/Softball Rule Differences Between Divisions

When can each division steal
Mini Tails – No Stealing
Lil Guys – No Stealing
Peanuts – No Stealing
Minor Boys – When the Catcher has the Ball
Major Boys -When the ball crosses home plate
Minor Girls – County Rules say “no” city says YES stealing will be allowed when the catcher touches the ball or the ball passes the catcher.
Major Girls – when the ball leaves the pitchers hand
Dead Ball is called when
Mini Tails, Lil Guys T-ball and Peanuts - Play ends when the ball is returned to the pitcher or an infielder is holding the ball and the play has stopped or in the judgment of the umpire play should stop.
Minor and Major Girls – Play is complete when a player is standing in the 16’ Circle and in control of the ball. There is a half way ruling which shall be determined by the umpire. When the ball is declared dead the player must return to the previously occupied base unless a halfway ruling has been declared.
Minor and Major boys – Play action stops when the ball is thrown back to the pitcher and he/she controls the ball on the mound. (circle has been removed for these divisions) There is a half way ruling which shall be determined by the umpire. How long can a player pitch and when are they removed from pitching:
Minor and Major Girls - Pitchers may pitch no more than 4 innings per game. No limit however to games pitched per week. There is a no re-entry rule once a pitcher is removed.
Minor and Major Boys – Pitchers shall not pitch more than three inning in a game and no more than 6 innings in a week. Saturdays begin a new week. In any division if a pitcher hits a player twice in the SAME INNING or a total of 3 times during the game they must be removed from the game.
INJURY RULING
Re-Entry of an injured player will be at the umpires discretion.
SLIDING
All Divisions No Sliding at first base, Dive Backs allowed at any base, No head first sliding at home plate. Any infraction will be an out.
MERCY RULING
In all divisions there is a 10 batter rule that will complete an inning. NOT THROUGH THE LINE UP BUT 10 BATTERS.
FIELD DIMENSIONS AND BALL SIZES & MICELLANEOUS
All divisions will play with 60 bases.
Mini tails Softball
Coach will pitch from the 35’ pitching rubber. There will be a 16’ circle around the pitchers mound. There will be a 20’ arc from home plate to designate when the ball is in play. Any ball that does not pass the 20’ arc is considered a foul ball. Mini Tails will use an 11” softball. Game Time 1 hour. No Score Kept. 2 coaches may be on the field when teams are on the field. They may advise the play but may not interfere by touching the ball or the players at any time.
Lil Guy’s T-ball
Coach will pitch from the 35’ pitching rubber. There will be a 16’ circle around the pitchers mound. There will be a 20’ arc from home plate to designate when the ball is in play. Any ball that does not pass the 20’ arc is considered a foul ball. Lil Guys T-ball will use a soft incredible for practice and games. Game Time 1 hour. No Score Kept. 2 coaches may be on the field when teams are on the field. They may advise the play but may not interfere by touching the ball or the players at any time.
Peanuts
Coach will pitch from the 35’ pitching rubber. There will be a 16’ circle around the pitchers mound. There will be a 20’ arc from home plate to designate when the ball is in play. Any ball that does not pass the 20’ arc is considered a foul ball. Peanuts will use a regular baseball for games and practice. Game Time 1 hour. No Score will be Kept. 2 coaches may be on the field when teams are on the field. They may advise the play but may not interfere by touching the ball or the players at any time.
Minor Girls
Minor Girls will pitch from a 35’ pitching rubber and there will be a 16’ Circle around the mound. An 11” softball will be used for practice and games. 1.5 hour games and score is kept by parents or designated scorekeeper from each team. Scores are to be reported at the end of each game to the snackbar.
Major Girls
Major Girls will pitch from a 40’ pitching rubber and there will be a 16’ circle around the mound. A 12” softball will be used for practice games. 1.5 hour games and score is kept by parents or designated scorekeeper from each team. Scores are to be reported at the end of each game to the snackbar.
Minor Boys
Minor Boys will pitch from a 40’ pitching rubber and use a regular baseball for games and practice. 1.5 hour games and score is kept by parents or designated scorekeeper from each team. Scores are to be reported at the end of each game to the snackbar.
Major Boys
Major Boys will pitch from a 46’ pitching rubber and use a regular baseball for game and practice. 2 hour games and score is kept by parents or designated scorekeeper from each team. Scores are to be reported at the end of each game to the snackbar.

REMINDER:
1. ALL COACHES, PLAYERS OR PARENTS WARMING UP PITCHERS MUST WEAR PROTECTIVE FACE GEAR. NO EXCEPTIONS.

2. ALL ON DECK PLAYERS AND RUNNERS MUST WEAR A BATTING HELMET. DURING THE GAME PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED OUT OF THE DUGOUT WITHOUT A HELMET. THIS IS FOR THEIR PROTECTION.
