Eva Ybarra was an active commissioner for the Livingston Parks Recreation and Arts Commission. She was the inspiration behind the PRAC scholarship supported by the commission in 2019. The first year she provided the scholarship out of her own pocket. Eva was an upstanding member of Livingston as she had a deep passion and love for her community. Eva was a member of the Merced County Association of Governments, she volunteered as a coach on numerous occasions for the city of Livingston recreation department and she was also a team captain for the Relay for Life Cancer society walk. Eva’s Ybarra's life was taken tragically and unexpectedly on 10/02/2023. Eva was loved by so many and has left behind so many incredibly wonderful memories. In 2024 the commission unanimously renamed the Scholarship to the Eva Ybarra Memorial Scholarship. This Scholarship is for a LHS Senior who has been an active participant in the city recreation department programs.
