The funding for this project as been as bit of a struggle trying to provide all of the grant deliverables with the funding we have. The infrastructure failures according to the architect exceed the funding available for the entire project. Staff has aggressively meet and come up with a plan to finish the deliverable package before the deadline of December 2027. The original drawings have been changed however we will be getting a new facility verses a remodeled facility.
On August 4th California Consulting a grant writing firm submitted a grant (Land and Water Conservation Fund) which will build the park on the corner of C and 7th to include the original deliverables on the prop 68 grant. please refer to the drawings below.
The Parks Recreation and Arts Commission will be doing fundraisers over the next couple of years to help purchase items for the equipping of the facility. There is an opportunity for the community to come alongside to assist in the project. #1 Be a part of the fundraising committee by signing up online, #2 purchase items the commission will be selling as well as attending events to support the project.
